It was the festival of Eid yesterday so the boys had a day off school, this meant that we could go and run the photography session in the morning (as opposed to the afternoon when we normally go), luckily the weather was nice to we got a chance to finish off the sunpaper activity which we started the day before.The boys collected their papers, which had dried over night, and personalised them with painting and writing. We wanted the boys to have a chance to put their characters across in this activity.
The volunteers had noticed that the boys were reluctant to hold the camera in portrait so for the next part of the session they focused on encouraging the boy to take portrait pictures, in the final part of the session we reviewed the pictures they had taken so far and ask the boys to explain why they have chosen the images which they choose to keep.
We left the cameras with them for the rest of the day, it’ll be interesting to see what they come up with.
